I was excited to purchase these cute Essence eye shadows from their Me & My Ice Cream collection. Ironically these ice cream themed shadows are baked. What's a baked eye shadow? It's when complimentary colours are marbled together in a dome (raised) shape and baked. The process leaves your eye shadow ultra reflective and pigmented. Here's a swatch of Essence's 01 Cone Head and 02 Icylicious.
Cone Head is a cool, frosty light purple.
Icylicious is a warm, silvery light coral.
Me & My Ice Cream shadows come in sturdy packaging which protects your shadow well. The plastic is clear so it's easy to pick the one you want when applying your make up. How do I use them? I actually use them like highlighters for my eye lids. After applying regular shadow, a sweep of Cone Head for cool colours, or Icylicious over warm colours adds a brightness to otherwise dull eyes. Another option which I absolutely love is to just apply a dot of this shadow to the centre of my eye lid with a finger tip, and blend. In a subtle way, this makes your eyes appear bigger and draws attention to your pretty eyes.
Swatched together, there's a not a lot between them, but at $4.95 here in Australia (cheaper
elsewhere), you might as well grab both so you've got a warm and a cool option. There's also a green shade called Always In My Mint. I'm loving these eye shadows, pick them up if you can C
