The first thing you'll notice about Revlon's new line of long wearing lipsticks, is that they come in a lip gloss style tube, and there's no balm. I've tried the old double ended style by Maybelline and Covergirl, and found they make my lips feel dry and cracked like I've been trudging through the Sahara desert, and the colour doesn't even last 4 hours! Could a super long wearing lipstick that doesn't even need a balm really exist? I was intrigued and had to give it a try.
Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick is applied with a doe foot application. It takes a little longer to apply than a regular lipstick, but encourages attention to detail which is actually a good thing because, (spoiler alert) this is not a short term commitment.

in 010 Premium Pink
The shade I chose is Premium pink. It's a matte pink with tiny silver sparkles which catch the light. It's quite a vibrant colour, but the most wearable of the 10 shades at my local Priceline.

After application, your lips do feel tacky for some time, at least 10 minutes. It's best not to eat or drink, let them dry. Once the colour is set, I can drink without the colour transferring to my glass, and eat all day long (as is my usual style) with my lip colour staying on. I also have a habit of rubbing my lips together for no particular reason, and this removes most lipsticks much quicker than usual.
|6 hours after application|
To my surprise, after 6 hours, my colour isn't perfect, but you really need to look close to tell! After 8 hours, it's looking pretty dodgy, but the colour is definitely still there. I've even showered and for some reason left this on all night to find my lips still very pink in the morning. Colorstay Ultimate is not moisturising, but my lips feel comfortable, not parched like they do with regular long wearing lipsticks. I love that this one is set and forget, excellent for work or events when you know you won't have time for reapplication. This one has my tick, or rather, sparkle of approval. I'm looking forward to picking up another shade soon although (grumble grumble) I don't like paying full price at $26.95 here in Australia, so I'll definitely be looking out for Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick on sale.
