Floral Friday, Something Romantic

The theme of Floral Friday this month is "something romantic". Today I'm featuring roses. All of the pictures in today's post are from the most romantic day of all, my wedding day, back in January of 1998. Above is my bridal bouquet. A simple arrangement of white roses with a light dusky coral pink centre. They were absolutely beautiful.

My headpiece was a band of matching roses and foliage.

Here I am with both the headpiece and bouquet.

I have to say though, our wedding cake makes the prettiest picture of all hehe. It was one chocolate fudge cake on top of another, encased in crispy white chocolate and topped with the same pretty roses. It was sooo good.

To this very day, my bridal bouquet stands in our wall unit, just behind where I'm sitting right now. Every time we do spring cleaning, I tell my husband, this thing doesn't look the best, maybe we should throw it away. No, he insists we keep it. To me, that's the most romantic part of all.

Floral Fridays is a monthly photography project with different themes each month. This series is about fun and taking time out to smell the flowers. To play along, please email Trishie (trishie@underlockandkeyblog. com) for next month's theme.

  9. You looked beautiful on your wedding day, your dress is gorgeous as were the flowers.

While the cake is beautiful, my favourite part has to be the bouquet you kept! :) I gave my maid of honour's bouquet to my mother in law as a gift, but she threw it out when the flowers died. My mum still has my bridal bouquet on display, drying out slowly and I think it looks lovely still :)

  16. I love the dress! It is very true that it is huge at the bust, and that is saying something as I am a D cup. Though it will need alterations to adjust for my body dimensions
